Eala barges into Eastbourne Open main draw

Alex Eala makes it to the main draw of the Eastbourne Open after beating Hailey Baptiste of the United States, 6-7, 7-6, 6-1, on Sunday (Manila time) in Great Britain.

Eala, 20, fought for two hours and 47 minutes to beat the current No. 56 player in the Women's Tennis Association rankings.

The Rafael Nadal Academy graduate's first opponent in the main draw has yet to be determined.

Eala is competing in grass competitions to prepare for the Wimbledon Championships on 30 June.
