From teen heartthrobs to serious contenders, Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, collectively known as FranSeth, are ready to prove they’re more than just a love team. With the upcoming crime-thriller "Sins of the Father" premiering on 23 June 2025, the rising Kapamilya stars are stepping into a bold new chapter in their careers, embracing complexity, emotional depth, and maturity both onscreen and off.

The series, helmed by acclaimed director FM Reyes and starring screen veteran Gerald Anderson, signals a defining transition for the duo. Known for their sweet, youthful portrayals in past projects, FranSeth now faces the challenge of portraying characters grappling with secrets, betrayal, and inner conflict.

“This is our shift into something more serious,” Francine shared during the show’s media conference. “This isn’t the usual fun and lighthearted project. The scenes are heavier and more demanding emotionally and mentally.”

In "Sins of the Father," Francine plays Arissa, the enigmatic daughter of Mike Trinidad, portrayed by John Arcilla. It’s a role far from her previous portrayals, one that demands restraint, emotional nuance, and a more grounded sense of womanhood.

“Arissa scared me at first,” Francine admitted. “She’s nothing like the characters we’ve done before. She’s deep, unpredictable, and shaped by trauma. The challenge was how to play her as a woman, no longer a girl making impulsive choices, but someone shaped by difficult decisions.”

Helping her through the process is her onscreen partner Seth, who plays Enzo. Offscreen, the two have developed a unique approach to pushing each other to grow through friendly competition.

“We made a bet,” Francine laughed. “He told me, ‘You need to act so well, I’ll be scared of you in a scene.’ So that became our mindset. Every taping day, we challenge each other.”

Seth agreed, saying their dynamic has always been rooted in mutual growth. “What works for us is healthy competition. We react to each other naturally, and that raises our performances. We talk about scenes, we surprise each other on set, and we make sure to lift each other up.”

For Seth, this marks a turning point in their journey not just as a team, but as individuals seeking longevity in the industry. “Our mindset has changed. If you’re good, I have to be better. And we don’t let each other fall behind.”

Beyond kilig and heartbreak, "Sins of the Father" offers a platform for FranSeth to display range and reinvention. According to Francine, “People expect love teams to bring the romance. But we’re more than that. We can be rivals, we can be enemies, and yet still bring the same level of tension and chemistry.”

Their dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed. Lead star Gerald Anderson praised the two during the preview, saying, “Be proud of these two. The roles they play are no joke. Just wait until you see their first kissing scene, let’s see if it’s a scam or not.”

Director FM Reyes also commended the young stars for daring to go beyond their comfort zones. “Francine is brave. Some actors freeze when asked to evolve, but she takes on the challenge with eagerness. Why limit yourself when the talent is so much bigger than what we’ve seen?”

Reyes emphasized the importance of letting them shine individually before being boxed as a love team. “Let them prove what they can do solo. Then bring them together and they’ll deliver something even more powerful.”

Indeed, FranSeth seems poised to break new ground. As Francine put it, “We all go through things, but the way we show them, how we breathe life into each character, that’s where the power lies. And here, we get to show we’re different. This is not the same FranSeth you’ve seen before.”

"Sins of the Father" premieres on 23 June 2025 at 9:30 PM on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC worldwide.
