BAGUIO CITY — Officials of the City Government of Baguio and the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) join hands in holding a symposium on improving public transport accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Said symposium titled “Making Public Transport Safer and More Accessible to PWDs” is set on 23 June 2025. The event will take place at the function hall of the Baguio City Health Services Office (CHSO).
The symposium will also feature discussions on “Integrating PWD-friendly Designs and Transit-Oriented Development Projects,” aiming to incorporate inclusive design principles into future urban planning.
CIAC president and chief executive officer (CEO) Jojit Alcazar will be gracing the symposium. Architect
Alexis Gabriel O. Doroteo from the Department of Transportation’s Road Transport and Infrastructure Sector is going to discuss making public transport safer and more accessible for PWDs. CIAC Investment Promotions Officer Jen Bugarin-Tan will provide updates on Clark International Airport’s flights and destinations. Baguio PWD Affairs Office chief Samuel G. Aquino will also give updates on the travel activities and concerns of PWDs in the city.
Various sectors from the city are expected to attend, including PWDs, who are significantly impacted by the current lack of accessible public transportation options in the region and across the country.
