Bolden, Guillou to miss Asian Cup Qualifers

Filipinas top strikers Sarina Bolden and Katrina Guillou won't be joining the squad for the AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers in Cambodia after the 26-woman pool has been announced on Tuesday.

The Philippine Football  Federation hasn't stated why two of the Filipinas' best scorers didn't make the cut as they vie for a spot for next year's Asian Cup in Australia.

Both Bolden and Guillou were part of the historic 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup team in New Zealand.

Making the trip to Phnom Penh arw goalkeepers Olivia McDaniel, Inna Palacios, Gabrielle Baker, and Nina Meollo; defenders Hali Long, Angela Beard, Malea Cesar, Rhea Chan, Jessika Cowart, Janae Defazio, Katana Norman, and Sofia Wunsch; midfielders Sara Eggesvik, Kaya Hawkinson, Charisa Lemoran, Bella Pasion, Alexa Pino, Jaclyn Sawicki, and Ava Villapando; and forwards Carleigh Frilles, Nina Mathelus, Chandler McDaniel, Dionesa Tolentin, and Chayse Yang.

The Philippines will start its campaign againsy Saudi Arabia on 29 June at 5 p.m. (Manila time).

Then, the Filipinas will face the Cambodians on 2 July at 8 p.m before going up against Hong Kong on 5 July at 5 p.m.
