Currently generating positive buzz, good rating digits and giving its time-slot rival tough competition, Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre not only arouses curiosity, but gets love and support from loyal Kapuso viewers, certified Encantadiks and new fans and followers.
Since its premiere telecast last 16 June, hooked audiences have discovered more to Encantadia beyond Lireo, Sapiro, Adamya and Hathoria. This series introduces an expanded universe that doubles the mystery and mayhem, intrigue and magic, and quadruples the heroes and nemesis.
Topnotch computer-generated images and visual effects plus the weaving of a narrative that gives life to Terra (Biana Umali), Flamarra (Faith da Silva), Deia (Angel Guardian) and Adamus (Kelvin Miranda) and the other characters in the said chronicle are the reasons people are glued to its nightly episodes on free TV and all the online entertainment platforms of the Kapuso network.
Avisala, Adamus
Kelvin Miranda is Diwan Adamus ng Lireo, the second child of Sang’gre Alena. He is the guardian of the brilyante ng tubig (gem in the water). He has the power of ivictus (paglalaho or to become invisible) and can talk with pashneas (animals).
“On being the first male Sang;gre, it is a big honor for me and I am most thankful for this blessing,” Miranda said. “The fact that they gave me this opportunity, that GMA trusted me to give life to this character, it is an achievement that overwhelms me. I will give my all and my best in portraying Adamus.”
For his physical and emotional preparations for the role, Miranda said he went on a diet, learned martial arts, horseback riding and fight scenes. “You know, walang bagay na madali (there is no wasy way) in becoming Adamus,” he admitted, so for this role, he also learned to give his 100 percent in everything, which he said he had not done before.
As for the emotional truths of Adamus, Miranda said, “All that we have or possess, they are just temporary. But, even if we know these as a matter of fact, we must cherish it, love it, protect it the best way we can. (We cannot) take it for granted kasi nga alam naman nating lahat ay (because we know that everything is) temporary.”
He finds Adamus’ qualities of being principled and righteous similar to his own.
Ivo, live Deia
She is the keeper of the air gem and for Angel Guardian who gives life to one of the most important and powerful Sang’gres, “Deia is a Sang’gre with a pure heart and strong convictions. She may not come from royalty, but she carries the spirit of a true warrior,” said Guardian. “What makes her special is her courage to follow what she believes is right, even when it’s difficult. Her strength lies in her empathy, and her biggest challenge is balancing loyalty and truth. She’s a reminder that anyone — no matter where they come from — can rise to greatness.”
“Being a Sang’gre is such an honor — not just because of the title, but because of what it stands for. It’s a symbol of strength, responsibility, and heart,” Guardian continued. “I grew up watching Encantadia, so stepping into this world feels surreal. But more than the magic and the power, what moves me most is the chance to represent a character who fights for what’s right. It’s a big legacy to carry, and I’m grateful to be part of it — to give life to a new kind of Sang’gre that shows courage can come from the most unexpected places.”
Guardian admitted that becoming one of the Sang’gres posed many chgallenges. She said: “For this role, I trained hard with my weapons — pickaxes and a bow and arrow. I even went back to archery and took a proper training program because I wanted to do it right and make the archery community proud.”
She added: “The production gave us martial arts training, but I also made sure to get additional training myself. It was definitely challenging juggling everything, but it made me stronger and more confident in the fight scenes — and honestly, it was kind of fun pushing myself that way!”
What is Deia’s emotional truth? Guardian’s swift answer: “Deia’s emotional truth is centered on courage — the courage to stand up for what she believes is right, even when it means going against her own people. To bring sincerity and vulnerability to the role, I focused on understanding her inner conflict and the strength it takes to make difficult choices. I prepared by reflecting on moments in my own life when I had to be brave and trust my heart, which helped me connect deeply with Deia’s journey.”
The common ground that she shares with Deia, Guardian said: “What I think Deia and I have in common is the courage to do what’s right, even if it’s scary or doesn’t seem right to everyone. We both have the willingness to listen and open our hearts to the truth without losing ourselves. It’s about staying true to your values while being open-minded and understanding, even when faced with challenges or opposition.”
Directed by Rico Gutierrez and Enzo Williams, Encantada Chronicles: Sang’gre airs Monday to Friday, 8 p.m., on GMA Prime Kapuso Stream.
