In a statement, CIDG acting director Brig. Gen. Rolindo Suguilon said that the suspects — identified as a certain Nguyen, a female, and Phuong, a male — were apprehended last 16 June at the Doly Beauty Lounge in Bel-Air Village, Makati City.
Initial reports said that they were reportedly conducting medical consultations and providing quotes for nose augmentation and body modification procedures.
Suguilon stressed that the unauthorized practice of medicine poses a significant risk to public health.
The foreign nationals face charges for violating Republic Act 2382, also known as the Medical Act of 1959.
He urged the public to report any illegal activities in their areas, assuring that the CIDG is committed to preventing crimes and potential health hazards.
Suguilon also commended the CIDG Quezon City District field unit for their swift response.
“Rest assured that the CIDG is steadfast in enforcing all the laws and unyielding in its fight against all illegal activities and criminalities nationwide,” Suguilon said.
