In the mythical world of Encantadia, where magic reigns and destiny unfolds, a chilling new force is about to rise—and it wears the face of Rhian Ramos.

Chosen as the first and only actress considered for the role of Mitena, the actress revealed that this is one of her biggest acting challenges to date.

“It feels amazing. I take it as very flattering,” Rhian shared in her recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, revealing how Encantadia creator Suzette Doctolero personally reached out to offer her the role. “I was shocked,” she said, recounting the moment she was handed not just one, but two powerful characters in a single day—Mitena of Encantadia, and Filipina of the upcoming historical drama Pulang Araw.

But embodying Mitena—a villainess driven by vengeance and pain—was no ordinary challenge.

“It was very emotionally challenging,” Rhian admitted. “To reach that level of hate, anger, pain, and evil every day… it was pretty intense.”

After two years of taping and sustaining Mitena’s ferocity, Rhian revealed she needed time to decompress. “First thing I did after taping? Botox,” she quipped with a laugh. “I was so angry for so long, I didn’t want my face to move anymore! I just wanted to relax, to get massages, to take care of my skin again. We were angry for two years straight—that takes a toll.”

Despite the emotional exhaustion, Rhian expressed deep gratitude for the role and the opportunity to be part of the Encantadia legacy. “I’m still grateful. During filming, I just focused on the acting and removed the pressure. But now that it’s about to air, I’m realizing how big of a deal this is—I’m nervous, my hands are cold, but it’s also very exciting.”

As Mitena, Rhian Ramos brings a haunting presence and formidable power to the world of Sang’gre. With her icy aura and commanding performance, she is poised to become one of the most memorable villains in Philippine fantasy television.
