A fire broke out Sunday morning at San Francisco High School in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, just one day before classes were set to begin. The blaze, located on Misamis Street, near a large shopping mall, affected parts of the school, including the faculty room.
According to reports from the Quezon City Fire Department, the first alarm was raised at 10:52 a.m., escalating to a second alarm by 11:07 a.m., and a third alarm shortly thereafter. Firefighters brought the blaze under control before noon.
The adjacent shopping mall was not affected due to a firewall. The Bureau of Fire Protection is investigating the cause of the fire and estimating the cost of property damage.
Pasig eyes expanded scholarship programs
The local government of Pasig City announced its commitment to expand the city’s scholarship program over the next three years of his term and in a social media post, the local government said that the city’s PAGASA Scholarship Program will be expanded to integrate a technical and vocational (tech-voc) program.
It added that the city council has already passed an ordinance to facilitate this integration and stressed emphasized that this expansion is in addition to the existing free tech-voc programs offered at the Pasig City Institute of Science and Technology, a local government-run school.
The initiative aims to address the needs of local employers and support aspiring micro-entrepreneurs in Pasig City.
