Pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena finished in seventh place after going over 5.70 meters in the Stockholm leg of the Diamond League in Sweden early Monday (Manila time).
Obiena, 29, tried to clear 5.80m but wasn't able to do so after three tries.
The two-time World Athletics Championships medalist improved from his "No Mark" finish in the Oslo leg last week in Norway.
Meanwhile, home bet Armand Duplantis set a new world record after clearing 6.28m.
Marschall Kurtis of Australia settled for second place after clearing 5.90m while Menno Vloon of the Netherlands took the third spot after tallying 5.80m.
