Marcos leads 127th Independence Day celebration

President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. led the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremony on June 12, 2025, at the Rizal Monument in Rizal Park, Luneta, Manila, to mark the 127th Independence Day celebration. The event, themed “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.,” was attended by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and their sons — Ilocos Norte First District Representative Sandro Marcos, Simon Marcos, and Vinny Marcos. Also present were Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief Gen. Romeo Brawner and National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chairperson Regalado Trota Jose Jr., alongside cabinet officials and members of the diplomatic corps. Simultaneous ceremonies took place at historical sites nationwide.
