President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has expressed his sympathy to the tragic crash of Air India Flight AI-171 in Ahmedabad.
"On behalf of the Filipino people, I extend our most heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India, and especially to the families and loved ones of all those who lost their lives," he said.
"Our thoughts are with every family, across India and beyond, grieving this profound loss. We stand in full solidarity with the people of India in this moment of sorrow," he added.
Marcos also prayed for the victims of the flight and hoped that the investigation to the crash may give them justice.
"May the victims be remembered with dignity, and may the ongoing efforts to understand this tragedy bring comfort and clarity to those left behind," he said.
Flight AI-171 was on its way to London Gatwick when the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff.
The plane was carrying more than 240 passengers and crew.
As of writing, 204 bodies have been recovered from the plane while 41 people are injured and receiving treatment.
