Davao Occidental blew an outright win but prevailed in overtime over Biñan Tatak Gel, 118-113, in the Manny Pacquiao presents 1xBet-Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League 2025 Season on Wednesday at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Ahead by 15 points with 2:48 to go as Chris de Chavez sparkled, the Tigers turned complacent and scored only one more while allowing the Lagunenses to pour 16, including the game-tying second charity of Mike Maestre.
The Tigers had a chance to break the 103 tie, but Jansher Salubre’s drive rimmed out, sending the game dominated by the Tigers into overtime.

Chavez matched his career-high 29 points, laced by nine three-pointers, grabbed three rebounds and issued two assists to clinch Best Player honors over Salubre, who tallied 21 points and three rebounds, and Joseph Terso with 19 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Other Tigers who delivered were Reymart Escobido with 13 points, six assists and five rebounds, Escosio with 13 points, six rebounds and two blocks, Jeff Comia with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists, and Harold Arboleda with 12 assists, 11 rebounds and two points.
