Marvin Agustin reflects on humble beginnings

Long before he became a successful actor, Marvin Agustin took a heartfelt trip down memory lane in an Instagram post, sharing a photo and story from 1995 when he worked at TIA MARIA’S Mexican Restaurant. It was a period that, he recalled, deeply shaped his values and work ethic.

“Grabe, this was 1995, TIA MARIA’S Mexican Restaurant days! Dito ako natuto respetuhin at mahalin ang kahit na anong klaseng trabaho,” Marvin wrote.

He vividly remembered juggling multiple roles — from waiter, bartender, kitchen help, cashier, janitor, to even security guard when needed. Business was slow, so everyone had to pitch in, regardless of the task.

“Lahat! Hahaha. Ang sarap pagdaanan at kuhanan ng leksyon ang mga panahon na susubukin ka ng buhay,” he shared. “Kaya LABAN LANG NG LABAN. Walang makakatalo sa taong ayaw magpatalo!”

Today, Marvin is not only an accomplished actor but also a successful restaurateur and businessman — proof that perseverance, humility, and respect for honest work can take you far.

His story is a powerful reminder that greatness often begins in the humblest places. For Marvin Agustin, that journey started in a small restaurant kitchen, armed with determination and grit.
