Amid the glitz of global pageantry, Alexie Brooks — Miss Eco International 2025 — is making a statement far more meaningful than a crown.

In a deeply personal interview aired 1 June on Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda, the 22-year-old beauty queen opened up about her relationship with her girlfriend, marking one of the most candid and heartfelt revelations of her reign.

It started with a quiet but powerful moment. When Boy Abunda asked about “the man” in her life, Alexie gently corrected him:
“I’ll change the ‘man.’ I’ll rephrase. The woman.”

The 22-year-old queen, who has always championed individuality and self-expression, revealed that she’s been in a committed relationship for nearly a year now. And it was through the depths of grief that her partner’s unwavering love became most evident.

With that brief but meaningful clarification, Alexie invited the public into her truth — one she’s lived with quiet courage for nearly a year.

The reigning queen, who was crowned in Alexandria, Egypt last April, shared how her relationship deepened during a moment of profound loss: the passing of her grandmother.

“That was the first time I caught myself down on the floor,” she said. “I didn’t eat for a few days, she didn’t eat for a few days. She helped me get out of the floor.”

It was in that shared grief that Alexie recognized the strength of their bond — an act of love that transcended words.

“I think that tells so much about how much she cares for me, how much she loves me. I’m grateful every day that she’s there to make me happy and support the dreams that I want.”

Known for her bold, androgynous fashion and unfiltered confidence, Alexie has long championed individuality and freedom of expression. She spoke candidly about the importance of not boxing herself into any fixed identity.

“I feel like it’s better if you don’t put yourself in a box,” she said. “I’m happier, I’m comfortable, and I feel confident. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
