PHLPost unveils Pope Francis commemorative stamps

Pat C. Santos

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has released a special commemorative stamp honoring Pope Francis, celebrating what it called his “enduring legacy of faith, compassion and service to humanity.”

In a statement, PHLPost said that the stamp is presented in a se-tenant format, featuring a connected pair, each with a unique design.

One highlights Pope Francis’ spiritual humility, while the other reflects his advocacy for peace, social justice and environmental stewardship. This format symbolizes the dual aspects of his papal mission and influence across religious and global humanitarian efforts.

PHLPost has printed 20,000 copies of the commemorative stamp for this release, along with 1,000 Official First Day Covers (FDC). The FDCs include the new stamps and a cancellation postmark with the official release date, making them sought-after collector’s items.
