A 61-year-old man listed as a high-value target in the illegal drug trade was arrested late Monday night during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Olympia, Makati City.

The suspect, identified as alias “Waki,” was apprehended around 11:55 in the evening on 2 June in an operation led by the Makati City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU). Authorities stated that the suspect is unemployed and listed as a high-value individual (HVI) in the anti-illegal drugs watchlist.

During the operation, an undercover officer posed as a buyer and was able to purchase one sachet of suspected shabu for P500. The police immediately arrested the suspect upon confirmation of the transaction.

Other recovered evidence from the scene included five sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 67 grams, valued at P455,600. Police also confiscated the marked P500 buy-bust money and the sling bag used to store illegal drugs.

The suspect remains in police custody. Charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
