Team Falcons is enjoying a new weapon in its arsenal with the recent signing of two-time world champion coach Francis "Duckey" Glindro.
The mastermind behind the M2 and M5 world championship titles of Bren Esports and AP Bren, respectively, Duckey has reunited with his former players at Team Falcons as their Southeast Asia head coach — just in time for the MPL Season 15 Playoffs.
"I think [having Duckey] is a huge factor. His experience and voice after the game, he sees what needs to be adapted and fixed," said Team Falcons roamer Rowgien "Owgwen" Unigo.
After a hard-fought 3-2 win over TNC on the opening day of the Playoffs, Team Falcons suffered a reverse sweep loss to Team Liquid PH in the upper bracket semifinal.
In the lower bracket, however, Team Falcons silenced their doubters with a dominant 3-0 sweep of fan-favorite Aurora, setting up a rematch with Team Liquid PH in the lower bracket final.
The winner between Team Falcons and Team Liquid PH will advance to the grand finals and earn a spot in the 2025 Mid Season Cup this July. For Owgwen, Duckey’s presence is a major boost for the squad.
"His motivational talks have been a huge help in lifting our morale since he arrived at Team Falcons," Owgwen said.
