CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) has arrested eight suspects involved in drug operations and the seizure of illegal drugs worth P130,000, loose firearms and ammunition on 30 May.
NEPPO reported that at about 4 p.m. elements of the Cabanatuan City PS conducted an Anti-Illegal Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Barangay Magsaysay Norte, Cabanatuan City, that resulted in the arrest of four drug suspects. Two of the suspects are residents of the said barangay, while the two others are from Barangay Aduas Norte, same city.
Seized during the operation were MOL 20.10 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P136,680. The suspects will be charged with Violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
In other reports, elements of Lupao PS, Cabanatuan City PS, and San Isidro PS conducted separate manhunt charlie operations in their AORs that resulted in the arrest of three wanted persons who are being sought by law for Frustrated Homicide, Theft and Violation of BP 22.
The accused are now under the custody of the operating units.
Meanwhile, at about 8:10 a.m. elements of the Palayan City PS conducted an Anti-Illegal Firearms Buy-Bust Operation in Barangay Manacnac, Palayan City, that led to the arrest of a 50-year-old driver-resident of Barangay San Juan Accfa, Cabanatuan City. During the operation, an undercover police officer was able to purchase one caliber .38 revolver loaded with four live rounds of ammunition from the suspect.
Upon further verification, it was confirmed that the firearm was unlicensed, as the suspect failed to present any supporting documentation.
The suspect will be charged with violations of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and the Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and for the existing gun ban.
