Two child-focused national government organizations (NGOs) received ₱1.1 million in financial assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) during a turnover ceremony held on 26 May at the agency’s Executive Office in Mandaluyong.
The Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home in Pasig, represented by Executive Director Emila Valdez, received a renewed grant of ₱800,000 — its third from the PCSO — after consistently complying with program requirements and demonstrating effectiveness in caring for abused, neglected, and abandoned children.
Meanwhile, Quezon City-based House of Refuge Foundation, a newly endorsed partner, received its first grant of ₱300,000. Foundation representative Ricky Bunao assured full compliance with grant guidelines to qualify for future aid.
PCSO assistant general manager for Charity Sector Arnel Casas led the turnover on behalf of GM Melquiades Robles.
Both NGOs expressed gratitude for the support and welcomed possible monitoring visits to ensure transparency and continued partnership.
In the same event, PCSO also turned over emergency supplies to Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong.
Barangay Councilor Darwin Palaganas accepted 150 first aid kits, two weighing scales, two oxygen tanks, and five fully equipped trauma bags.
“These supplies will be a huge help during storms or emergencies in our area. Our barangay is truly grateful,” Palaganas said.
The donation is part of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, which supports communities through disaster preparedness, education, and environmental initiatives.
