NCR remains on top of Palaro standings

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – The National Capital Region (NCR) remains ahead of the medal tally in the fourth day of the 65th Palarong Pambansa.

As of 3:03 p.m., NCR remains on top with 71 golds, 50 silvers, and 27 bronze medals as it looks poised to secure its 18th straight overall title.

NCR dominated in gymnastics, swimming, and athletics in this multi-sport tournament organized by the Department of Education and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission.

In fact, the top three most bemedalled athletes so far in the Palaro, Arman Hernandez Jr. of gymnastics and Titus Sia and Sophia Garra of swimming, all came from the Big City with five mints each.

CALABARZON sits in second place with a 30-44-40 gold-silver-bronze medal tally thanks to its athletes’ victories in athletics, chess, and arnis.

Western Visayas sits in third place in the overall title race with a medal tally of 24-33-27.
