Two men were arrested during an “Oplan Sita” operation conducted by personnel of the Antipolo Component City Police Station on Wednesday morning along Sitio Loreland, Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspects were onboard a motorcycle and not wearing helmets when they were flagged down at the checkpoint.
They were identified only as alias Rico, 36, and alias Kent, 33 — both residents of Barangay San Roque.
When asked for identification, the driver failed to present a license and admitted to not possessing one. During the conversation, a police officer noticed a bulge on the driver’s right waist. Authorities then instructed both men to lift their shirts for inspection.
Upon frisking, police recovered a .38 caliber revolver and two bullets tucked in a holster on the driver's waist.
The arrested suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of Antipolo City Police Station, while facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10054 or the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009, Republic Act 4136 or Driving Without License, and Republic Act 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
