'VAMFIRE RIGHT?' The Medical City taps Cristopher Diwata for blood donation drive.

Cristopher Diwata, known for his viral impersonation of Taylor Lautner on It’s Showtime’s Kalokalike, is using his comedic talent for a greater cause — encouraging blood donation.

Famous for the catchphrase “What hafen, Vella?” that once left audiences in stitches, Diwata now stars in a campaign by The Medical City (TMC) promoting blood donation across the Philippines. In his signature style, Diwata delivers dramatic and humorous lines like: “Vamfire will feyt to me! Blood! We need more blood here! I trusted to donate blood, but you did not!” — grabbing attention and making a serious appeal light and relatable.

“Sometimes, the best way to reach people is to make them laugh first — then inspire them to act,” said Joshua C. Dizon, Head of Communications at TMC. “Cristopher Diwata does exactly that.”

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the country’s growing need for blood. The Philippines requires an estimated 100 million units annually to help patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, or emergency care. By pairing pop culture and public service, TMC hopes to motivate more Filipinos — especially the youth — to become regular blood donors.
