University of Perpetual Help System Dalta downed Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-18, 25-22, 25-20, in a do-or-die game Monday to book a final seat in Season 100 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) girls volleyball tournament at the Arellano University Gym in Manila.
The Junior Lady Altas bounced back from their heartbreaking 23-25, 18-25, 25-16, 25-18, 12-15 loss in the Final Four last Wednesday.
Head coach Sandy Rieta reminded the defending champions to stay composed during the game and focus on their plays.
“I told them before the game that we need to forget our loss in Game 1 and we were able to execute our plays,” Rieta said.
Jaja San Juan and Maya Javier contributed nine points each for Perpetual, while Isabel Baser contributed 6 points as the Lady Altas face Arellano in the finals for the second straight time.
Game 1 of this best-of-three championship series starts on Friday at the Playtime Filoil Centre.
The Las Piñas-based school is also vying for the boys volleyball crown as it faces Letran College on the same day and venue at 5 p.m.
The Junior Altas gun for their 13th crown while the Squires look to end a 20-year championship drought.
