For Pinoy Big Brother housemate and Kapuso rising actor Josh Ford, every step he takes in the entertainment industry is a tribute to a promise—one he made to three friends whose lives were tragically cut short.
In an emotional interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Josh opened up about the 2023 car accident that changed his life forever. He was the sole survivor in a crash that claimed the lives of three close friends, including fellow Sparkle talent Andrei Sison, the grandson of OPM legend Marco Sison.
“It was always our dream as a barkada to make it in showbiz,” Josh recalled with visible emotion. “They’re such genuine guys, and I miss them every day.”
Josh considers them more than just friends — they were brothers. The bond they shared was deep, forged in youthful dreams and everyday moments, making the tragedy even harder to process.
“They were the people I lived with. Now I live alone, and that’s what makes everything feel even heavier,” he said.
The actor admitted that the aftermath of the accident left a significant void. He sought counseling to help cope with the trauma and grief. When asked by host Boy Abunda how much of himself was lost in the tragedy, Josh responded honestly: “A lot po. I didn’t know how to move forward. But I know I have to be strong and trust that God has a plan for me.”
In moments of quiet reflection, Josh still visits the graves of his friends and talks to them. He hopes that wherever they are, they’re watching him, proud of the man he’s becoming.
“They never got to see me on TV,” he shared, voice cracking. “They knew I was in showbiz, but never saw me onscreen. So now, to be here with you, Tito Boy… I hope they’re happy. I hope they see me now.”
Josh also revealed the difficult encounters he’s had with the grieving families of his friends, including Marco Sison. “I would always say sorry — not because I was at fault — but because I truly shared in their loss. I lost brothers, too.”
Despite the pain, Josh draws strength from the memories and lessons he shared with his friends. Their spirit continues to guide him in his journey through life and show business.
“I wouldn’t be Josh Ford without them,” he said. “They taught me to be genuine, to just be myself. Kahit anong mangyari, happy lang pare. That’s how we lived. And I miss them loads.”
In their memory, Josh has made a vow: to carry on the dreams they once built together. With every audition, every appearance, and every new role, he brings with him the love, laughter, and light of the three souls who remain with him — forever in spirit.
“That’s my promise,” Josh said. “I will continue the dreams we started.”
