Dreaming of D.C.? CSIS offers paid internships for spring 2025

Patricia Ramirez

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), one of the most respected policy think tanks in the United States, is now accepting applications for its spring 2025 paid internship program in Washington, D.C.

Open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates from around the world, the program provides hands-on experience in international relations, public policy, and related fields.

Interns will contribute to research, writing, and project development within specific CSIS departments. They will also participate in leadership development sessions through the Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy, CSIS’s in-house training program.

The internship offers valuable professional development and networking opportunities, with placements that can help launch careers in global affairs.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. While U.S. citizens are welcome to apply, international applicants are also encouraged, provided they secure their own J1 visa.

Candidates should have a background in research and be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program. CSIS offers both part-time and full-time roles, with each position providing a stipend that varies depending on the assignment.

To apply, candidates must submit a resume, a cover letter, a writing sample, and a transcript, which may be unofficial. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with no fixed deadline. Interested individuals can submit their applications online through the CSIS careers portal at https://careers.csis.org/internships.
