Japanese Ambassador Endo Kazuya and Madame Endo Akiko attended the opening reception of TOKYO Before/After, a traveling photo exhibition organized by the Japan Foundation Manila (JFM), at Estancia Mall on 16 May.

The exhibit, supported by JT International Philippines and the Embassy of Japan, features over 80 curated photographs showcasing Tokyo’s transformation from the 1930s–1940s to the post-2010 era.

In his remarks, Ambassador Endo said, “From the cultural to the historical, we follow these artists’ works as they take us to a place where both past and present can converge, inspire, and delight.” He added the exhibit reveals that “much like a Philippine city, Tokyo is a city that’s as alive and changing as the people that inhabit its charming confines.”

Other guests included JFM Director Suzuki Ben, NCCA Chairperson Victorino Manalo, and UP Assistant Professor Szusza Velasco.

The exhibit runs through 31 July at the 3rd Floor of Estancia Mall. Admission is free.
