One Meralco Foundation (OMF), the CSR arm of Meralco, in partnership with the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc. (CSFI), PLDT-Smart Foundation and Metro Pacific Investments Foundation, has inaugurated the Bagong Bayaning Mandirigma Casualty Care Center (BBM CCC) at the AFP Medical Center (V. Luna General Hospital) in Quezon City.
The facility features a minor operating room, trauma and wound care unit, and patient wards that can serve up to 405 patients monthly. Renovation and construction services were provided by MIESCOR Logistics.
“This center reflects our deep commitment to the men and women in uniform. It’s a public-private partnership in action, delivering the care our service members deserve,” said Meralco and OMF Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan.
The BBM CCC is the first phase of a larger project, with a Cancer Care Center scheduled to open by mid-2025, supported by the MVP-led Makati Medical Center Foundation.
AFP Medical Center Commander BGen. Jonna D. Dalaguit called the facility a testament to what collaboration can achieve for those who risk their lives in service.
House Speaker Martin Romualdez welcomed the initiative, citing its vital role in ensuring soldiers receive critical care when facing personal battles.
CSFI Chairperson Rep. Yedda K. Romualdez hailed the partnership as a “fitting recognition” of the sacrifices of Filipino soldiers, while CSFI President Rosemary “Baby” Arenas added that the center assures wounded troops they are in good hands.
OMF president Jeffrey O. Tarayao said the foundation remains committed to bringing hope and healing to those who protect the country. “This is our way of showing ‘pagmamalasakit’ to our modern-day heroes.”
The BBM CCC is among OMF’s many community development projects supporting sectors within and beyond the Meralco franchise area.
