Street racing returns to the spotlight as Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) hosts Race Weekend 2 of the 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup on 24–25 May in Villar City, marking the series’ first street circuit event since 2018.
The free two-day motorsports event is open to the public, with passes available through registration at tgrphcup.com. The event promises high-octane excitement, showcasing sprint races, drag races, car club and gymkhana exhibitions, and live entertainment.
On Saturday, fans can catch the qualifying round and first sprint race, while Sunday will feature the second and third sprint races. All events will be livestreamed on the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippines Facebook and YouTube channels.
Previously known as the TGR Vios Cup, the TGR Philippine Cup has held street races in Alabang, Cebu, Taguig, and Pasay. This will be its first time in Villar City, adding a fresh setting for fans and racers alike.
“We have heard how much the racers and fans wanted to bring back the street race after the successful ones we’ve had in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu. With the races closer to the Metro, we hope more people will come to experience the thrill and joy of motorsports for themselves and perhaps even discover a passion for speed and all things racing,” shared TMP Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services Andy Ty.
Aside from the races, eventgoers can enjoy car displays, test drives, sim racing, GR merchandise booths, and food stalls. Concerts featuring Rico Blanco and Parokya ni Edgar (24 May) and Ely Buendia and Bamboo (25 May) are set to light up the evenings.
Special Toyota vehicle promos will also be available exclusively during race weekend.
The event is sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and supported by partners including Petron, GT Radial, Seiko, Toyota Financial Services, Tuason Racing, and venue partner Villar City.
