Government employees nationwide will begin receiving their midyear bonuses on Thursday, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced.
The bonus, equivalent to one month of basic salary, is mandated under Budget Circular No. 2017-2. To qualify, employees must have rendered at least four months of service from 1 July of the previous year to May of the current year.
The midyear bonus applies to personnel from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, including those in constitutional commissions, state universities and colleges, and government-owned or -controlled corporations covered by the compensation and position classification system.
According to the DBM, P47.587 billion has been allocated for civilian personnel, while P16.108 billion will go to military and uniformed personnel.
