The Department of Energy (DOE) experienced a power outage on Thursday, just minutes after Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla assured the public that the country’s power supply was stable and sufficient to meet demand.
The unexpected blackout occurred during a media briefing intended to ease concerns over potential brownouts and to highlight the agency’s efforts in maintaining uninterrupted power during the recent national elections.
Power was restored after approximately 10 minutes.
