It's three in a row for the TNT Tropang 5G after delivering a 101-84 beatdown over defending champion Meralco in the Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup last Sunday.
Roger Pogoy lit up the Ninoy Aquino Stadium as he erupted for 34 points on a 12-of-18 shooting clip.
A 10-0 run in the final 7:14 of the fourth quarter gave the Grand Slam-seeking Tropang 5G the needed push to break the game wide open.
"I thought in the third quarter Meralco made some great halftime adjustment to counter our defense. So we had to just talk and make a counter adjustment," TNT head coach Chot Reyes said.
"Fortunately, it worked, and we were able to limit their scorers -- Chris Newsome and Bong Quinto and (Chris) Banchero -- from inflicting damage."
“Like we always say in our team, when we defend well, our offense will follow and take care of itself."
Calvin Oftana dropped 28 points for TNT as they now hold a 3-3 win-loss record.
Hodge had 23 points but it wasn't enough as Meralco sank to a 3-4 slate.
