Mayor Honey Lacuna has called on Manileños to vote for candidates of integrity and moral character, urging them to support those who are free from corruption and deceit.
Addressing a crowd of approximately 12,000 in Manila's third district, she emphasized that true honor and good conduct are embodied by the "Asenso Manileno" family.
She pledged to sustain and further improve the benefits for senior citizens, such as the doubled monthly allowance, and expand employment opportunities for all sectors, including seniors and persons with disabilities, a program that began under her leadership in 2022.
Lacuna rallied against the return of corrupt practices, urging the crowd to help prevent such regressive elements from regaining power. She expressed deep commitment to her constituents, stating, "I will never abandon you; you are my family. Your love will be reciprocated with double the care."
Confident in her victory, Lacuna declared, "We will win! The care of a doctor and the love of a mother will keep me as the mayor of Manila."
She also thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for declaring 12 May a special non-working holiday to enable citizens to exercise their right to vote.
Looking ahead to Mother's Day on 11 May, Lacuna reflected, "Mother’s Day is coming, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned as a mom, it’s that we should say ‘I love you’ — but it means so much more when we show it through our actions."
For many Manileños, she has become a mother figure — caring, decisive, and dedicated to the city's welfare.
Rep. Rolan Valeriano highlighted her achievements, noting the establishment of the first university campus in Tondo and the implementation of the "Kalinga sa Maynila" program, which has served over 88,000 residents across 600 barangays.
The program offers services such as job fairs, medical assistance, and the provision of IDs for senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities.
