Senator Christopher “Bong” Go joined thousands of supporters in Panabo and Davao cities on 9 May for a back-to-back motorcade, urging continued support for the DuterTEN senatorial slate.
The motorcade, which began in Panabo City, culminated in a grand rally hosted by Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte. As a long-time aide to former president Rodrigo Duterte, Go expressed his deep gratitude to the Duterte family and the people of Davao for their unwavering trust and support.
"Kung papalarin at muling pagkatiwalaan, hinding-hindi ko sasayangin ang oras ko bilang senador. Sipag, malasakit, at more serbisyo pa po ang maiaalay ko," Go said, emphasizing his commitment to serve Filipinos with diligence, compassion, and a focus on the welfare of the poor.
("If given the chance and trusted again, I will never waste my time as a senator. I will offer more hard work, compassion, and service.")
Reflecting on his time with former president Duterte, Go shared, “Kahit na malungkot tayo ngayon dahil sa nangyayari sa ating Tatay Digong, palagi kong tinatandaan ang payo niya sa akin: Just do what is right. Unahin ang interes ng bayan. Unahin ang kapakanan ng mga Pilipino lalo na ang mga mahihirap, at hinding hindi ka magkakamali.”
("Even though we are sad now because of what is happening to our Tatay Digong, I always remember his advice to me: Just do what is right. Put the interests of the nation first. Put the welfare of the Filipinos, especially the poor, first, and you will never go wrong.")
Before heading to Davao City, Go visited Sabaw Sabaw Lang, a popular eatery in Panabo City, where he encouraged Filipinos to support small businesses and promote local economic growth. Aside from health, Go pledged to prioritize job creation and food security.
As chairperson of the Senate Committees on Youth and Sports, Go also urged the youth to stay active and healthy. “Mga kabataan, mag-sports po kayo! Makakabuti sa kalusugan at makakaiwas pa sa bisyo,” he reminded.
("Young people, engage in sports! It will be good for your health and will help you avoid vices.")
Go rallied support for all ten candidates in the DuterTEN senatorial slate and for Duterte-aligned local candidates in Davao City, including former president Rodrigo Duterte for mayor and Mayor Baste Duterte for vice mayor.
“Suportahan rin po natin ang ating local candidates ng Davao City headed by former president Rodrigo Duterte for mayor and Mayor Baste Duterte for vice mayor,” Go said.
("Let us also support our local candidates in Davao City, headed by former President Rodrigo Duterte for mayor and Mayor Baste Duterte for vice mayor.")
He concluded with a promise to work tirelessly for the Filipino people, “Hinding-hindi ko po sasayangin yung pagkakataong ibinigay nyo po sa akin. Magtatrabaho po ako para sa Pilipino. At iyan po ang pwede kong i-alay sa inyo, ang aking bisyo sa pagseserbisyo.”
("I will never waste the opportunity you've given me. I will work for the Filipino people. And that is what I can offer you, my passion for service.")
