The MPT DriveHub Cycling Team made a strong first impression at the MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025, going head-to-head with 16 other competitive teams and finishing with more than just bragging rights. In their debut race, they didn’t just show up — they dominated, bringing home major awards and establishing themselves as serious contenders in local pro cycling.

From day one to the final sprint, the team pulled together with solid teamwork and relentless effort. Their grit paid off with a win in the Team General Classification, clocking in a total time of 88 hours, 22 minutes, and 2 seconds. It wasn’t just a good start — it was a statement, as they took the title from the reigning champs and signaled a shift in the local cycling scene.

Leading the charge was team captain Mervin Corpuz, who claimed the Sprint King title after a string of strong stage finishes. His experience and focus helped steer the team through tough stretches and kept their momentum going all the way to the podium.

“The battle wasn’t easy but this team proved that it can fight until the end,” coach Santi Barnachea said.

“I’m proud of this team.”

Co-captain Jonel Carcueva was a standout throughout the race, clinching 3rd place in the Individual General Classification and 3rd place in the Eagle of the Mountain category. Jonel’s resilience and steady performances on every stage were key to the team’s success.
