Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Thursday expressed gratitude to the Jesus is Lord (JIL) Church Worldwide and its founder, Pastor Eddie Villanueva, for endorsing his senatorial candidacy in the 2025 elections.

“I am deeply thankful to the Jesus is Lord Church Worldwide and to its visionary founder, Pastor Eddie Villanueva, for endorsing my candidacy for senator in this election,” Go said, noting the personal and spiritual importance of the endorsement.

Go also thanked Senator Joel Villanueva, a fellow lawmaker and the son of Pastor Villanueva, for backing his reelection bid and for their continued collaboration on legislative efforts, including the law that established the Department of Migrant Workers.

“I am also grateful to my esteemed colleague, Senator Joel Villanueva, for the trust he has given,” he said.

Calling the endorsement “a great personal honor,” Go said the support of the JIL Church—one of the country’s largest Christian movements—was both politically and spiritually significant.

“This endorsement further gives me courage to continue offering honest and sincere service with compassion, because I believe that service to people is service to God,” Go said.

He highlighted the role of faith-based institutions in supporting initiatives for the poor and marginalized and praised JIL for its influence in promoting values-based leadership.

“And I am fortunate that the Jesus is Lord Church will be by my side in pursuing my goals for the country, especially for poor Filipinos,” he added.

The endorsement comes as Go builds momentum in his bid for a second term in the Senate ahead of the 2025 national elections.
