Concepcion, Tarlac — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the P187.6-million Municipal Government Center in Barangay Alfonso, Concepcion, providing residents with easier access to government services.
In a statement, the DPWH Tarlac 2nd District Engineering Office said the center was a joint project of the Tarlac Provincial Government, the Local Government of Concepcion, and the DPWH-Tarlac 2nd DEO.
According to District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos, the project began in 2023 with funding from both national and local sources, allowing for phased construction until its completion in 2024.
Ramos said P39.6 million released through their office in 2023 funded the structural foundation and earthworks for the main municipal hall, establishing the base for the entire facility.
“While the provincial and local governments developed various structures within the complex, DPWH was tasked with constructing the main municipal hall in phases until its completion in 2024,” Ramos said.
In 2024, site development, including parking areas, a roadway, a perimeter fence and a drainage system, cost P49.5 million. The remaining funds covered architectural finishes such as cladding, doors, windows, tiling, and electrical systems, according to Ramos.
“The new government center provides a modern, accessible space for delivering public services, with facilities designed to create a functional and user-friendly environment for both government employees and the public,” Ramos said.
The municipal complex is located on a 19,996.048-square-meter lot near residential areas and the town center, ensuring convenient access to government offices and public services while allowing space for future expansions.
