Former Manila mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso on Wednesday, 7 May, publicly endorsed senatorial candidate Camille Villar during a campaign rally in Paco, Manila, in support of his local slate “Yorme’s Choice.”
The rally, held along Pedro Gil Street despite rainy weather, gathered supporters of Domagoso’s team, including vice mayoral candidate Chi Atienza, 5th District congressional aspirant Rep. Amado Bagatsing, and a full lineup of council candidates.
Domagoso named Villar as one of his senatorial picks for the 12 May 2025 elections, urging attendees to include her among their 12 votes.
“Pwede ba isingit na natin ito sa labing dalawa? Ang ating senador, Camille Villar!” he told the crowd, which responded with applause.
("Can we include her among the twelve? Our senator, Camille Villar!")
Villar, who is running as an independent millennial candidate, pledged to advance legislation that supports small businesses, affordable housing, gender inclusivity, and women’s empowerment. She cited her family’s history in Manila, pointing to her father Manny Villar’s origins in Tondo and his early experience as a seafood vendor in Divisoria.
Domagoso, a Tondo native himself, served as Manila mayor from 2019 to 2022 and is currently leading the race for mayor as he seeks a return to city hall. His administration was known for infrastructure projects and expanding basic services.
Villar emphasized shared priorities with the Domagoso-Atienza tandem, particularly in delivering access to housing, education, healthcare, and livelihood for Manileños.
