David Licauco gives grounded love advice to Dustin Yu inside PBB house

In a surprisingly level-headed exchange inside "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition," house guest David Licauco offered emotional support and guidance to his close friend, housemate Dustin Yu, amid the latter’s budding romance and internal struggles.

Dustin, visibly torn over his growing feelings for fellow housemate Bianca De Vera, confided in David during a quiet moment in the house.

“Parang gusto namin isa’t isa pero getting there, alam mo ‘yun?” Dustin began, expressing a mix of excitement and uncertainty. “Natatakot lang ako kasi kilala mo naman ako, bro eh. [Kung] paano ako magkagusto sa isang babae diba, baliw kung baliw bro eh. Malala kung malala talaga eh.”

("It's like we want each other, but we're getting there, you know?" Dustin began, expressing a mix of excitement and uncertainty. "I'm just scared because you know me, bro. [When] I start liking a girl, right? I'm crazy if I'm crazy, bro. It’s really bad if it’s really bad.")

David, known to fans as the ever-composed Pambansang Ginoo, used the moment to remind Dustin of the importance of emotional balance. “It’s nice that you like someone, definitely,” he said. “Mahirap makahanap ng babaeng gusto mo talaga… Pero ‘wag ka masyado sigurong emotional.”

("It's hard to find a woman you truly like... But don't be too emotional.")

His advice was both affectionate and practical: stay grounded and don’t lose sight of the bigger picture.

“Paglabas mo dito, pwede naman eh, diba? So kalma ka lang,” David said, encouraging his friend to enjoy the process and not jump to conclusions. “Tandaan mo, pangarap mo ‘to dati diba. So whatever happens, in a way, magdi-dictate din ‘to ng future mo.”

("When you get out of here, it's still possible, right? So just stay calm." "Remember, this was your dream before, right? So whatever happens, in a way, this will also dictate your future.")

By the next morning, David continued his role as mentor, gently pointing out that Dustin’s need for control might be adding to his stress. “Parang feel ko gusto mo i-control lahat eh… na baka ‘di mo na napapansin na too emotional ka na, nawawala ka sa sarili mo,” he observed, reminding Dustin that the version of himself people admire is calm, respectful, and self-aware.

("I feel like you want to control everything... but maybe you haven't noticed that you're becoming too emotional, that you're losing yourself.")

The conversation turned more reflective as Dustin shared that he and Bianca had mutually agreed to emotionally detach, especially with both facing eviction. “Hinayaan ko nalang, though masakit,” Dustin admitted. “Sobrang na-build na namin eh. Imagine mo bro, everyday kami magkasama.”

("I just let it go, even though it hurts." "We really built something. Imagine, bro — we were together every day.")

David, who had earlier amused viewers with a lighthearted prank during his house guest stint, closed the serious talk on a hopeful note, “Build good habits so that in the future, mas okay. Parehas kayong nag-go-grow, outside the relationship and inside the relationship. ‘Yun ang magiging healthy.”

("Build good habits so that in the future, things will be better. You're both growing outside the relationship and inside the relationship. That’s what will make it healthy.")
