An official of Anko, an Australian home and lifestyle store, revealed that the company is eyeing to open more stores in the country after unveiling two stores in the cities of Makati and Muntinlupa.
“We are (absolutely) eager to expand throughout the Philippines. We are opening our third store in July in Trinoma, Quezon City. We are committed to reaching as many Filipino families as possible,” said Rachel Turner, country manager of Anko Philippines, following the unveiling of its second store in the Philippines, located at Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City on Thursday.
Last year, Anko opened its first store in Glorrieta 2, Makati City.
Further, Turner maintained that they are surprised by the Filipino market’s warm welcome, which is why they will continue to expand operations here, the first in the ASEAN region.
“So, we have been overwhelmed with the warm welcome and hospitality the Filipino community has shown us. We have (really) enjoyed interacting with our customers, meeting them in store, and learning more and more and more about this beautiful place we now call home. You will see, over time, we’ve made some changes to our product and to our range selection to even better serve Filipino families, and I think the experience has been one that we are incredibly grateful for, and looking forward to extending that,” Turner told members of the media.
Known for its quality and affordable home and lifestyle products, Anko offers everything from everyday essentials like kitchen and dinnerware to storage solutions and trendy décor; stationery items like notebooks and pens for those who enjoy journaling; and even arts and crafts for kids and beauty and wellness products, all at low prices.
“Our focus on making everyday living brighter means we’re committed to helping our shoppers make their hard-earned money go further. For every peso we save our customers, it’s an extra peso they can use toward bills and other payments,” Turner added.
Ayala Corporation’s managing director, Mark Robert Uy, who was present during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, shared, “We’re happy to see Anko as more than just another retail store; it’s a shopping experience that focuses on creating the best in-store experience while offering products at affordable everyday prices. We are thrilled to be part of the journey of setting up the Anko Alabang Town Center store, and subsequently future stores.”
Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, the chairperson of Ayala Corp. and the owner of Ayala Land’s Alabang Town Center, where the second Anko store is currently located, also attended the opening of the Anko store in Alabang.
The opening day was a lively celebration filled with activities for everyone. Esteemed guests and shoppers enjoyed face painting, hands-on fun at the play-and-create area, pampering at the nail and massage station, fresh brews from the coffee bar, and upbeat live music, making Anko’s newest store an actual community event.
