Pasig City congressional aspirant Atty. Christian "Ian" Sia has resumed his campaign activities, joining Team Kaya This sorties after taking a break following backlash over a controversial single mom joke.

During a community caucus held Wednesday evening at Rosemarie Lane in Barangay Kapitolyo, Sia told constituents that, if elected, he would push for the creation of an additional legislative district in Pasig.

Sia also vowed to strengthen Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

The lawyer said he would seek amendments to RA 9262, particularly provisions concerning paternal financial support for children.

He also plans to introduce changes to the law prohibiting hospital detention of patients who are unable to pay their medical bills.

Sia acknowledged that his previous remarks caused hurt, admitting that while his joke was inappropriate, the rest of his message was based on truth. He issued a public apology for the sexually charged comment.
