BAGUIO CITY — Pangasinan Provincial Governor Ramon Guico III expressed strong condemnation on the armed robbery where four unidentified suspects who held-up employees of a pawnshop in Poblacion, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan Tuesday afternoon.
Based on the reports, at around 3:30 p.m. of the said date, four masked men armed with rifles were able to enter a pawnshop after pointing their guns at the security guard. Accordingly, they broke the glass casements where the jewelries were displayed.
After getting their heist, the robbers fired their guns towards the pawnshop and even pointed their firearms at the bystanders. The suspects were said to have fled towards the direction of Barangay Tulnac, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan.
There was no reported injuries from the shooting which took place just 50 meters from a police outpost.
Guico said the Police are doing its best to run after the suspects and catch them immediately. He also appealed to the community to cooperate with the police in preventing such crimes to maintain business confidence in Pozorrubio town and the whole province of Pangasinan.
In a statement, Pangasinan Provincial Police Chief Rollyfer Capoquian said that the police immediately launched dragnet operation in a bid to arrest the perpetrators of the robbery hold-up. The PPO also sent flash alarm to the police stations nearby and set-up checkpoints at the main streets of the town.
