Admin bets eye southern Luzon support

With midterm elections just days away, the administration-backed Senate slate, Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, will campaign in Quezon province, a populous and politically influential area in Southern Luzon.

The 11-member slate, endorsed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., plans to hold a major rally at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City. The campaign aims to energize the province's nearly 1.5 million registered voters in the lead-up to the May election.

The Alyansa ticket includes former Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, Senators Ramon Bong Revilla, Pia Cayetano, Lito Lapid and Francis Tolentino, former Senators Panfilo Lacson, Manny Pacquiao and Vicente Sotto III, ACT-CIS Representative and former DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo, and Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.

The Quezon visit follows campaign stops in Trece Martires City, Cavite on 11 March, Santa Rosa City, Laguna on March 22, and Antipolo City, Rizal on 4 April.

Alyansa campaign manager and Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco emphasized the importance of Quezon, saying, “Quezon has always been a stronghold of civic energy and political influence. We’re here to win trust, listen closely, and offer leaders who will deliver real results.”

Quezon province, home to over 2.2 million residents, includes Lucena City, Tayabas City and 39 municipalities across four legislative districts.

The Alyansa platform focuses on infrastructure, good governance, jobs and rural support, particularly in provinces like Quezon where agriculture, tourism and small enterprises are key to the economy.

“Our message is simple: We are here to serve, not just to speak,” Tiangco said. “Alyansa wants to uplift provinces like Quezon with real programs, responsive leadership, and results-driven policies.”
