Discaya pushes zero billing program in 'smart hospital'

DT

Mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya pledged a "zero billing" program at city-run hospitals if elected, promising residents free medical treatment.

Discaya, known as "Ate Sarah," said a financial review showed Pasig City's income could support the program. She said patients would be admitted, treated, and discharged without paying hospital bills.

"My promise to Pasigueños is a hospital without a cashier," Discaya said. "The City Hall will cover the costs."

Discaya also plans to build an 11-story "smart hospital" if elected in the 12 May elections. She said the right to life and healthcare should be available to everyone, regardless of financial status.

"The right to life and healthcare should not be sold," she said. "It must be available to everyone, rich or poor."

Discaya cited the need for an additional hospital due to the city's growing population.

The proposed smart hospital would feature advanced medical equipment and specialized staff.
