Pasig City mayoral aspirant Sarah Discaya has promised to provide “free breakfast meals” to students in public elementary and secondary schools if elected in the upcoming midterm elections.
Speaking at a community caucus in Barangay Pineda on Friday evening, Discaya shared her vision: “We also want to give kids breakfast so they’re full when they go to school.”
She added, “Sometimes, kids’ grades suffer because they’re hungry. It’s better if we feed them first.”
In addition to this, Discaya committed to giving every student in public elementary and secondary schools a P500 monthly allowance. She also promised that students would receive their school uniforms and supplies on time — before classes even begin.
“It’s really sad when we’re forced to borrow money just to get our kids’ uniforms and supplies. We want our children to have everything they need when school starts,” Discaya said, who is a mother of four with her husband Curlee Discaya. “If Team Kaya This wins, your children will have their uniforms and supplies ready before school begins.”
