Makati City Mayor Abby Binay on Thursday formally led the full opening of the Makati Life Medical Center (MLMC), marking a major milestone in the city’s commitment to deliver modern, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services to its residents.
Mayor Abby received a scale model of the hospital from MLMC President and CEO Dr. Dennis Sta. Ana during the ceremonial event, held at the state-of-the-art medical facility located in the heart of Makati’s Central Business District.
The Makati Life Medical Center is the country’s first and largest public-private partnership (PPP) hospital project between the Makati City Government and Life Nurture Inc., reflecting a shared vision of building world-class medical infrastructure through sustainable collaboration.
With this new phase of operations, the hospital officially activates critical medical services, including Emergency Care, Critical Care, Surgical Services, Admissions, and Women’s Health. These are in addition to existing outpatient and diagnostic services now extended to inpatient care.
Designed as a comprehensive and fully integrated healthcare facility, MLMC provides a wide range of specialized services—from advanced imaging diagnostics such as MRI, CT scan, 3D mammogram, ultrasound, and X-ray, to cardiovascular exams including 2D Echo, ECG, and 24-hour BP monitoring. It also houses a full-service clinical laboratory.
The hospital features an on-site pharmacy with delivery options and an Ambulatory Surgical Clinic that offers procedures such as colonoscopy, arthroscopy, mastectomy, gastroscopy, and EGD. Patients may consult with a wide array of medical professionals across various specialties, from Family Medicine to subspecialty fields.
Makati Life Medical Center now accommodates up to 100 inpatient admissions per day and serves as many as 800 outpatients daily, significantly enhancing the city’s healthcare capacity.
Joining Mayor Abby during the launch were Congressman Luis Campos, Congressman Kid Peña, Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, City Administrator Claro Certeza, City Health Officer Dr. Roland Unson, members of the city council, and department heads from the city government.
Also present were MLMC officials including Chairman Dr. Alejandro Ramon Prieto, CFO Engr. William Russell Scheirman Jr., EVP and COO Dr. Ermin Edgardo Ona, SVP and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brian Cabral, SVP and Chief Marketing Officer Josephine Aguilar, Chief Nursing Officer Beda Galicia, and SVP and Head of Support Services Ma.
