Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, on Monday, 21 April, led a motorcade in Taytay, Rizal, highlighting his commitment to delivering essential government services to underserved communities.
Joined by fellow “Duter-Ten” senatoriables Atty. Jimmy Bondoc, Phillip Salvador, a representative of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and Rizal Governor Nina Ynares, Go was warmly received by residents as he reiterated his focus on healthcare, education, jobs, and livelihood programs.
Go, declared an adopted son of CALABARZON in 2019, emphasized the importance of making government services more accessible. “Patuloy nating ilapit ang serbisyo sa tao. Sa ganitong paraan, mas nararamdaman ng mga kababayan natin ang malasakit ng gobyerno,” he said.
(“Let’s continue bringing government services closer to the people. This way, our fellow citizens can truly feel the government’s compassion.”)
Earlier in the day, the senator also led a similar engagement in Antipolo City. Go underscored his healthcare advocacy as chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health, pointing to Republic Act No. 11463 which institutionalized Malasakit Centers. He encouraged residents to visit Malasakit Centers in nearby areas such as Antipolo, Rodriguez, Cainta, and Binangonan.
According to Go, 167 Malasakit Centers nationwide have helped over 17 million Filipinos, based on Department of Health (DOH) reports. He also noted that more than 700 Super Health Centers are in development across the country, including 16 in Rizal, through collaboration with the DOH under Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and local government units.
Go also cited the passage of Republic Act No. 11959, the "Regional Specialty Centers Act," which mandates the creation of specialty centers in existing DOH hospitals.
Before the motorcade, the senator visited the Taytay Church to offer prayers for the late Pope Francis. “Patuloy kaming magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo at ako ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo ‘yan sa Panginoon, serbisyo ‘yan kay Allah,” Go said.
(“We will continue to serve you because serving is my passion, and I believe that serving the people is serving the Lord, serving Allah.”)
