In a moving social‑media post, Alynna Velasquez penned a tearful goodbye to her beloved partner, veteran singer Hajji Alejandro, who died on 21 April 2025 after battling Stage 4 metastatic colon cancer. Tuesday would have marked the couple’s 27th anniversary.

Velasquez thanked Alejandro’s children, Ali and Rachel, for letting her share his final eight days. “I think of you every hour of every day,” she wrote, underscoring a bond of unwavering love and devotion.

She recalled Alejandro’s decision to decline further hospitalization and instead choose palliative care at home, surrounded by loved ones. Cancer had constricted his respiratory system and silenced his once‑iconic voice, yet, she said, “But I felt your love even without words. And despite the pain, restlessness and hallucinations, you tried to hold my hand…”

In their last moments together, Velasquez whispered: “Go with God. I love you so much. See you in my dreams.”

She found comfort knowing that, in his final hours, Alejandro “accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior,” embracing the promise of eternal life.

Her message struck a bittersweet note, acknowledging their special day so soon after his passing. “Love ko… you tried to hold on… you know it is our special day today. But your human body gave up on you,” she wrote. “Thank you… thank you for your love.”

Velasquez ended her tribute: “Happy 27th Anniversary, my one and only love, Hajji Alejandro. See you in God’s time. I love you eternally…🌹”
