Over 200 students and teachers from Sapang Uwak Elementary School in Porac benefitted from a Back-to-School Donation Drive spearheaded by Vantage Energy, Mekeni Food Corporation, and One Meralco Foundation (OMF).
The initiative, held in one of the upland Aeta communities in Pampanga, distributed school supplies, books, and digital learning tools, including audio-visual and printing equipment, to improve the overall classroom experience. A feeding program led by Mekeni was also conducted to help address the students’ nutritional needs.
The donation drive is part of Vantage Energy’s broader efforts to support education in underserved communities, in collaboration with long-time partners Mekeni and OMF.
“This donation drive highlights the power of collaboration in transforming lives,” said Vantage Energy president Ernesto Cabral. “Values-driven partnerships not only ensure a shared vision but also build trust, strengthen communities, and create long-term impact.”
Mekeni assistant vice president for Human Resources and Exports Marilou Uy underscored the company’s advocacy for education. “This initiative reflects our commitment to help families and bring hope to the community. Together with our partners, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our kababayans,” she said.
This marks the second year of the partnership’s donation drive in Porac. In 2024, a similar initiative benefited 500 students from Villa Maria Integrated School.
