QCPD: Weeklong ops collar 246 individuals

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported Sunday the arrest of 246 individuals for various offenses during a weeklong operation from 13 to 19 April 2025.

QCPD director Police Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. said those arrested included 65 drug suspects, 48 wanted persons, 122 individuals involved in illegal gambling, and 11 people caught for possession of illegal firearms.

He added that the QCPD conducted 43 operations against illegal drugs, leading to the arrest of 65 suspects and the confiscation of shabu valued at P1,388,220.

Meanwhile, 48 wanted individuals were apprehended, including 26 Most Wanted Persons and 22 Other Wanted Persons. Among the notable arrests was Rogelio Domingo Luis, the No. 8 Most Wanted Person of Anonas Police Station 9, who was apprehended after 15 years for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.

Also nabbed were Michael Sopeña, the No. 5 Most Wanted Person of Galas Police Station 11, wanted for Frustrated Murder, was arrested after 14 years; and Ernesto Templo, the No. 1 Most Wanted Person of Eastwood Police Station 12, wanted for Rape, was apprehended by the District Mobile Force Battalion after 12 years in hiding.

Additionally, Armando Naga, the No. 4 Most Wanted Person of Fairview Police Station 5, wanted for Estafa, and Carlos Ramirez, the No. 4 Most Wanted Person of Pasong Putik Police Station 16, wanted for Frustrated Murder, were both arrested after nine years of evading authorities.

Authorities said the respective courts of origin have been informed of these arrests.
