Malacañang on Monday condemned the rising cases of bullying, harassment and violence both in schools and online.
“We have issued a message condemning any bullying or harassment of our students and young people,” said Palace Press Officer Claire Castro in a press briefing.
Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the relevant agencies to investigate the incidents after the Department of Education (DepEd) reported a significant number of such cases.
“The government has taken immediate action on these incidents as directed by the President,” she said.
Castro said the Department of Social Welfare and Development has also offered its support, including assistance to school officials by social workers.
Castro said the DepEd is currently investigating a stabbing incident at a Las Piñas City school, where three students stabbed two classmates dead after a disagreement.
The agency has spoken to a representative from the Schools Division Office and the principal of the school.
